Green Sangria

green-sangriaGreen Sangria

Serves 4-6

1/2 C Sugar

1 C Water

1 (750 ml) Bottle Sauvignon Blanc – don’t splurge here, a good, but cheap wine is good

1 C Triple Sec

1/2 C Fresh Lemon Juice

4 Kiwis, peeled and cut in thin slices

2 Green Apples with skin, cored and cut in thin slices

1 1/2 C Green Seedless Grapes, sliced in half

1/2 Bottle Soda Water (1/2 liter)

In a small saucepan, heat the water, add the sugar and stir to dissolve to make a simple syrup.  Cool to room temperature.

In a large pitcher, combine the simple syrup, Triple Sec, lemon juice, kiwis, apples and the grapes.

Refrigerate overnight.  (If you are in hurry, you can serve the sangria immediately, but if you have the time, let it sit)

Add wine and soda water.  Stir to combine.

Serve chilled in wine glasses.
